I went off to Southbank with a friend, Steve - ~sjb-productions to take some night photos.

This photo was taken of the ferris wheel that is near Southbank, about 1km away, while the wheel was spinning.

I took this photo at night, used an f/stop of 14 to allow an exposure of 30 seconds to capture the movement in the ferris wheel and blur out the details (minus the supporting struts of course.)

I used my friends Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 lens for this photo, and I must say that I am only half impressed with it - I would have expected it to be a bit sharper, but it is just as sharp as my 18-55mm stock Canon lens.

This is only one of 109 images that I took at night!

Not entirely sure where to put this image - it doesn't exactly fit into any other photography category, so I thought I would put it into the Conceptual gallary, as it is a concept that I had for a long time. If you have any better suggestions as to where to put it, can you comment where and why?

This looks really cool. I don't know if you've taken any before, but you should go outside at night, and leave the shutter open for about, half an hour or so. It usually produces some decent looking pics.

I've been thinking of that, the only problem is the damned light pollution.
Next time I am in the country maybe!

Ah, yeah. I live in a small town, so I don't really think about that much.

Aww thanks. :)

I guess it doesn't have as many favs as it could as I am relatively undiscovered.

Probably because I haven't been photographing for long, and precious few of my photos are really good, but hey, I am still learning!

Thanks for the comment!

Hehe thanks!

I assume you mean "It" not "I", right?

Otherwise... are you the ferris wheel? Do I need a model release from you?

Hehe it isn't the camera but the photographer who takes the photo.

So... it's funny how we saw the scene differently. ;)

Unles if you are talking about technical differences between the cameras, in which case..... I haven't seen yours past smaller shots on your screen.
