:pride: Free lens hoods!!!

I found a website which allows you to print your own lens hoods!

The beauty of this is instead of having to pay lost of money for a piece of plastic, you can spend 5c on ink and $1 on thick card paper and print your own lens hood!

The website you can download the lens hoods is - [link]

Check it out, they have lots of lens hoods available to download, and in petal and rounded format.

A quote from their website :

Why use a printable lens hood?

Printable lens hoods offer a number of advantages over their costly counterparts:

* Ultra compact - can be carried unfolded.
* No waiting to order one - simply download, print, cut-out and attach.
* Redundancy - don't worry if you lose one; just print another!
* 100% recyclable.
* Can be modified to cater for different digital SLR sensor crop factors.
* Available in both 'rounded' and ';petal' versions.

And best of all...

* They're absolutely free!

:pride: Ghetto flash ring.

I am looking to make a ghetto flash ring, if anyone has info of how I can do this, let me know :)

I own a Speedlight 300EZ for my camera, which is forced to go off at full power each time I take a photo and I am looking to make a macro flash ring from that (direct the light to a ring around the lens.)

A feature I will be having in my journals from now on is "features" where I will showcase some of the amazing art that DeviantART has to offer.

Keep checking back here each journal for some of my favourite picks :)

Horsing around has never been so fun!
I never knew that a hrse could move his/her top of his/her mouse so far!

HDR - a fun and interesting way to display a photo. *The-Egg does lots of HDR and manages to pull the edits off pretty well.

Quite an interesting photo, the frame must have taken quite a bit of work to make. Lots of deep colours just add to the quality of this photo.

Shallow DOF on this closeup photo and the lines pointing to the subject brings the attention right to the subject. Very interesting photo!

A glass globe looking like a lens? Fun photo, and full of interesting things :)

Never really been a fan of fun portrate photos like this, as they are usually not pulled off all that well, but this photo just oozes fun and happiness, and the colours further add to the interest and happiness.

Scary long hallway that looks like it would not be out of place in a horror movie or shooter game.
Views to date : 443

The technical "mistakes" in this photo add to the interest in the photo. It is interesting how in the age of super sharp lenses and HDR and near perfection that photos that go the other way (Holgas, photos with deliberate clipping, and other cameras/techniques that break the usual rules of photography) are making a comeback.

Another HDR photo, one that is pulled off better than most that I have seen.

This photo is quite interesting. I am not sure if that is the floor or the roof, or what on earth it is. Almost makes me want to go to the place where this photo was taken just to see what it is!
